Full name: Harold Peter Henry Reese
Noted For: shortstop; member of the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers (1940-58). By putting his arm across Jackie Robinson's back, Reese helped the first black ballplayer become publicly accepted. Elected to the Hall of Fame (1984).
Quotation: "If I had my career to play over, one thing I'd do differently is swing more. Those 1,200 walks I got, nobody remembers them."
