While driving intoxicated, was in an auto accident and suffered a broken neck and permanent voice damage (1996). After incidents of public drunkenness and domestic violence, sentenced to jail then sent to a detox facility (2000). Claimed in 2007 to have no recollection of either his auto accident or his acting career.
